What's your experience with piano?

Firstly, I am not a professional pianist or a piano teacher. I am merely a piano enthusiast who has played piano for 10 years. The information found on this website is derived from my experience with private lessons, workbooks, music magazines, etc. accumulated over the years. Due to this, I am unable to cite specific sources of information, though I try my best to maintain the most accurate information possible.

How did you learn piano?

I learned piano through private lessons with various teachers.

Why do you play the piano?

Ironically, at first, I didn't like piano at all because it was so tedious to practice. But after playing it throughout school, I play piano now because I want to. Even though I don't take private lessons anymore, I continue to play music as a hobby.

Why are you teaching piano?

I've passed the level requirements in my state, so I have enough experience to teach the basics of piano. But of course, I run this website as a hobby, so this site lags in comparison to the knowledge gained from private lessons. In fact, I recommend private piano lessons, but I know some people don't have time, can't find classes close to their homes, etc. to take lessons. Therefore, this website is useful to the casual learner who can't sacrifice time and money for private lessons.

What's your piano experience?

My piano experience consists of private lessons, recitals, and performances. I gained my knowledge of music theory mostly from private lessons and various workbooks.

Do you plan to continue with piano in the future?

Absolutely! After so many years of piano, I can't possibly let it go without feeling a kind of loss.

Why did you make this site?

To help prospective piano players learn about the basics of music-reading and piano-playing.

What's your motivation?

To guide others, and as a side product, to gain internet popularity. =)
