  1. What's a Time Signature?
    • A kind of symbol that tells us the rhythm of the piece.
  2. What does the top number represent?
    • HOw many beats per measure.
  3. What does the bottom number represent?
    • What note gets one beat.
  4. Why is the bottom number necessary?
    • The bottom number tells us what kind of note should be counted as 1 count. This allows us to figure out how many of each kind of note goes in one measure.
  5. What's a measure?
    • A section of music, represented by long vertical lines across both clefs, that separates the music into equal numbers of beats.
    • The loudness/softness of a piece.
